In 1999 a passionate group of singers came together to form Gods Posse. Founder Nelson Larkins had a vision of bringing together some of Chicago’s finest singers for this group. Members, Ray Burnett, Tim Henderson, Anthony Watkins, John Atkins, Deonadre Sanders, Randy Berry Sr, Keith Hoskins Jr, and Maurice Harmon comprise “Gods Posse”. Gods Posse is purposed and determined to be used by God to round up souls for the Kingdom. Their only wish is that God will get all of the glory out of their ministry. Their new single “Anchored” is an up-tempo groove that drives home the importance of being “Anchored” in God. Gods Posse’s sound stays true the Quartet sound with tight harmonies, the powerful sounds of the electric guitar, and a hard hitting drive.

 

Gods Posse’s first album entitled “Gotta Do Work In The Church” created a buzz about who they were in the Chicagoland area. In June of 2014, they released their first single entitled “God Got A Blessing”, and they continued to build and grow. The group followed up the release of their debut with a new set of songs in May 2017 with their sophomore album entitled “The Kind of God We Serve: Live In Chicago”. Gods Posse was blessed to have the project chart on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart in the TOP 25 for 7 weeks. The album featured songs like: “The Kind of God We Serve”, “Put Your Trust in Jesus”, “Your Blessing Is On Its Way”, and “Back Back Train”. Many testimonies were shared with the group about how their songs have impacted lives with this body of work. They continue to travel and share these impactful testimonies.

 

Gods Posse has had the opportunity to share their ministry on Willie Wilson’s syndicated show “Singsation” show, the WGN Morning News show, and the syndicated show WGN America. Gods Posse has shared the stage with many music colleagues like: The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and Spiritual QCS, Spencer Taylor and Highway QCS, The Jackson Southernaires, Donnie McClurkin, Joe Ligon and The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and many more. Gods Posse has been  graced to  receive recognition for their work with nominations from the 2018 Stellar Awards for Traditional Duo/Group of the Year, the 2018 Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award,  Chicago Music Awards Nominee, the 2018 Prayze Factor Season 11 Winner, and they received a Rhythm of Gospel Music Award. Gods Posse has created great momentum with their tight harmonies, polished Quartet style, and poignant messages. Be on the lookout for all that Gods Posse is on track to accomplish this year.
